What does it cost a guide?
Nothing. No profile fee, no subscription, no per-booking charge to you. Guides are paid out of the booking the outfitter or club runs, and the split is set by them — HunterPass takes its 10% from the guided booking as a whole, not from your share separately.
Do I need to be a registered outfitter to guide?
It depends on the state and on who you are guiding for. Colorado registers outfitters through the Department of Regulatory Agencies, and guiding under a registered outfitter is different from operating as one yourself. If you take money to guide independently, get a written answer for your state before you do — it is the single most common way good guides end up in trouble.
Why does a verified profile matter?
Because the alternative is a phone number passed around a forum. A profile that carries verified credentials, current first aid, real availability, and a booking history from hunts that actually happened is the difference between being recommended and being findable. It also means the outfitter assigning you does not have to take your word for your certifications.
When do guide tools ship?
Q1 2027. Guide tools touch outfitter-registration rules that differ in every state, and getting those wrong puts your license at risk, not ours — so they arrive when they are right. Colorado's first season runs on clubs and landowners; guides come in with the Southeast.
I guide for one outfitter and one club. Does that work?
That is the common case and it works fine. Your profile is yours; assignments come from whoever you work for. Both see your availability, neither sees the other's bookings, and your payouts arrive from each of them against the hunts you actually ran.
